Give Me My Gun Owner Susanna Love of Big Cabin, OK e-mailed us, "Here's Rio. I've quite a few rides on him and he is SO easy to work with! I rode him the weekend we put on our Advanced Seminar (for retrieving/hunting dogs) on about 200 acres the last weekend in April. Dogs and people everywhere, birds flying, Rangers, 4-wheelers, tractors, other horses acting up, and, this is the kicker, gun fire. He was, without a doubt, the most relaxed horse there. I even was able to fire a .209 blank pistol off of him . . . barely a jump. He is an unbelievably good boy." Note: Rio (Face of the Maravillas) is a 2-year-old!!!
Susanna liked Rio so much that she bred her TB mare Powder Pass back to Face. Rio now has a full-brother. Susanna says "He is really a neat little guy. And I swear he is sweeter than Rio was as a foal...don't know if that is possible though! He even nickered at my husband last night as he walked through the barn! I couldn't be more tickled. You've really got a good producer in Face." Here's Susanna and Rio, looking for birds to shoot!
