Face's 2009 Foal Crop
So far we know of 58 Face It Im Good foals that have arrived in 2009. Here are the statistics: 30 colts, 28 fillies. It's a rainbow of colors. We have 11 bay roans, 21 red roans, 1 red roan tobiano, 1 bay roan tobiano, 1 bay overo, 17 bays, 1 brown, 1 dun, 1 sorrel, 1 black, and 2 buckskins. Click the little icon of the camera below for photos of most of the foals.

Mark Alexander of Denham Springs, LA, is a man of few words, but they are good words. He describes his colt by Conclusions Lucky MS, "He is a good mover and should make a nice horse." Dam is an own daughter of Mr Conclusion out of a Sonny Go Lucky mare whose offspring have over 2900 points. Yes, this red roan colt should make a nice horse! His registered name is Good Bars Conclusion.
Here's the first "second generation" CHHR foal that we've seen. His dam is Invest in Fun (Investment Capital x Shes Realy Fun) who was raised by us. Shes Realy Fun is still in our broodmare band. "Rascal" (registered name Dynamic Mr Good Bar) is owned by Sommer Beebe of Crystal River, FL. Besides having a great conformation, look at the color and chrome on this colt!
Snazzys Monique had this gorgeous filly in mid-April in Crookston, MN. Owner Karena Cymbaluk e-mailed us, "I couldn't have hoped for a finer filly.  She is absolutely elegant and surely will become a super model as she grows, her barn name will be Giselle. I am thinking she will be registered "WSA Gisella Good Bar" but I'm not completely certain. I sure am thrilled with her." This photo was taken when Giselle was 2-1/2 months old.
Here's Face's first embryo transfer! Pending name is Face It Im Zee One "Zeety," in honor of Dr Kurt Zermuehlen - Dr Z - who did the transfer at Kendall County Equine Clinic in Boerne, TX. Owned by Natalie Ippolito of Pipe Creek, TX, this pretty bay filly was born April 5. Real mom is Jacks Sizzlin Review, a Sir Quincy Dan/Two Eyed Jack/Impressive bred mare. Here Zeety has just had her first mud-bath and is showing Julie how pretty she thinks she is!
Here is Face's first blue-eyed AQHA filly. Talk about FLASHY! Look at this little bay "Angel" owned by Mary Olsen of Boerne, TX. Two high back stockings, white on one front foot, a big bald face, and one blue eye. She's out of Sheezoomin, a double-bred Dash for Cash mare. Her applied for name is Sheeza Angel Face.
Pam Hernandez of Spring Branch, TX, got her second Face filly of the year in late March. This one is a red roan! She's out of Gold Dollie Hank, a foundation bred mare who has King P-234 on her papers. The filly has Face's trademark big crooked blaze that runs down into her left nostril. Her barn name is "Raz," registered name Razzle by Face.
This bay roan colt, who has a big star and snip, was presented to us here at CHHR by our Artful Move mare Piece of Art "Monet" on Feb 11. We've decided to call him "Simon"  because TJ barely missed the birth because she was in the house watching American Idol on TV! His AQHA registered name is Artful Face.
Simply So Delightful (Selection So Simple x daughter of Zippo Pine Glo) had this handsome bay roan colt on March 5. Owner Marta Michilizzi of Cool, CA, is calling him "Cody." He has a big star, and three socks. Marta tells us "He's got so much "pretty" and body to him, but omg!...you should see him move! I'm hoping I'm not seeing something that's less wonderful than it looks -  afterall, I have had Paints for the last 15 years and honestly, the very best of the Paints usually still don't quite measure up to the best in QH - but boy, if this little guy were a Paint, he'd be world show bound for the pleasure at some point. He's got the freaky flat knee - it just doesn't bend! Sweepy and fluid and soft and slow. I am so excited.  :-)   Oh, and his registered name is " All That Is Good"...  and it fits him!"
This is a 20-day-old photo of Bonanza Kane, a bay roan filly owned by Kathy Rekeweg of Woodburn, IN. Kathy says, "Here she is, the most beautiful bay roan filly you can have! I hope to breed back to Face It Im Good next year. I LOVE HIS FOALS!" Dam is First Lady Zipper, who has Doc's Prescription, Ima Big Leaguer, and Zippo Pine Bar on her papers. How about that for a great pleasure prospect?
This is Facing Pen Time "Wynne," a gorgeous bay roan filly owned by Andrea James who purchased the dam Classic Carrie from Texas A&M while in foal. Classic Carrie is an own daughter of Dynamic Deluxe. Andrea e-mailed us, "I am beyond thrilled with this filly.  In addition to being spectacular to look at, she is extremely good minded. If that isn't enough good news, her movement matches her phenomenal looks."

Here's Beth Rinehart's almost-black filly "Ellie" (because she's so tall and elegant). She was born to the 17-hand TB mare Tuff Act to Follow in Smithsburg, MD. Beth says "She is inquistive and friendly, has a beautiful color - and the first foal we've had with lots of chrome! My daughter has been working with her, she just turned 11. Ellie is the most laid back foal we've had. I'm looking forward to watching these two grow up together! Kat has big aspirations!" Registered name to be Face It Im Elegant.
Here's Aces Are Good, "Ace," a bay roan colt owned by Paula Bragg of Tallassee, AL. He was born in mid-March to Shes My Kinda Magic, a Quincy Feaure/Zippo Pine Bar mare. Paula says she and her husband couldn't believe it when they got their dream of a roan foal. Face not only gave them the roan color they desired, but look at those matching socks! Plus, Paula says, "I'm in love with his personality."
How perfect is this red roan filly? Her name is A Face U Wont Forget, aka "Henri." Owner Jennifer Morris of Platteville, CO, says "We are really excited about her." So are we, here at CHHR! "Henri" is out of Ive Got to Zip, an own daughter of Zip to Impress.
Face It Im Mauve Lus was born on Jan 28 here at CHHR to our Blazing Hot mare Classy. "Crystal" is now making her home in Spruce Grove, Alberta, Canada, where she is loved by her new owner Cherrie Merrill-Pavao. Cherrie intends to show Crystal in lunge line classes in 2010.
What a show career this pretty moving filly should have! Owner Meredith Brock of Alvin, TX, calls her "Stella." She's out of Scarlets Endof Story who is a Coosa/Two Eyed Jack mare.
Stephanie Kozlowski of Sheridan, NY, e-mailed us about Rhythym to Rhyme's new colt, "He is called Monty (registered name Got a Good Advantage). He is so friendly and put together so well. He was born March 11 and I believe that he is the nicest baby we have ever had out of that mare and he is also the nicest foal we have had this year. He is a great mover and with his personality he is sure to go far." In mid-2010 Monty moved to his new show home in Greenville, PA. He and his new owner Maggie Irvine will be hitting the show ring soon.
Mindy Lingnau's mare Skipas Page Girl (by Page Impressive and out of a Skipa Star mare) had this incredible red roan filly in early May. "Pozie" has mega-flash, with a crooked blaze, three socks and one coronet. Mindy has named the filly RS Zipposta Be Good. They live in Moriarty, NM.
Lindsay Grant of Gananoque, Ontario, Canada e-mailed us, "Just wanted to let you know our mare had a healthy colt.  Very roan and alot of white. Just what I wanted. You should see him lope. You wouldn't think he was halter bred on the one side. Super flat up front and deep, deep hock already. I just absolutely love him. He is so quiet and easy to work. You show something to him once and that is all it takes. I credit this all to Face as my mare is a bit of a wing nut, lol. I am definitely keeping him for myself as my new show horse. His name is Garth, registered name Face It Im Shameless." Dam is halter bred mare Ima Destinys Child who has Obvious Conclusion/Coosa/Impressive on her papers.
Mina Sharpe's bay colt was born in Carlsbad, CA, on March 24. Mina says "He's very handsome, very inquisitive and interactive, and has legs that go on for miles! I'm thrilled to death. I'm just over the moon for this little boy- he's sweet, incredibly intelligent, a quick learner, and just too handsome for words! His applied for name is Face It Im Zen. He's out of Whata Encounter "Wanda" who is a grand-daughter of Mister GQ.
Nancy Brooks of Murrells Inlet, SC, finally got her colt from Ima Sweet Asset, and what a good one he is! His registered name is Face It Ima Asset. Nancy e-mailed us, "He is so sweet! And oh my god! What a mover! He's gonna be fancy, fancy, fancy!" She is already thinking of breeding back next year to get another one just like him. Dam Ima Sweet Asset is an Investment Asset mare with Scotch Bar Time on her bottom side.
Here's Face it Shes Awesome, barn name "Saphira" at the Ontario (Canada) Breeders Futurity. Owner Donna Theriault e-mailed us, "There were 10 fillies entered in her class, all were bred for halter and all handled by pros. When she took 5th in her class we were thrilled! We had a lot of nice comments from other breeders and trainers asking about her. She was a real trooper, hauling 2-1/2 hours then walking through the show grounds with all the confusion and never once spooked or was afraid." This pretty bay filly is out of the An Awesome Mister mare, Akin to Awe, and lives in Alymer, Ontario, Canada.
Lookie here!! Our first DUN colt, born to Jennifer Melton's mare Skipstwoeyed Image, a Skipper W/Two Eyed Jack mare. Jennifer plans to name him Face It Im Done. They live in Natchez, MS. Although the photo doesn't show it well, Jennifer says he has all the dun factor points you could want -- dorsal stripe, shoulder stripe, zebra stripes on his legs, etc!
This is a quick snapshot of Lynette Kennedy's cute red roan filly out of The Right Glow "Chloe," a Majestic Dell/Speedy Glow bred mare. More photos will follow soon. She was born in late March and lives in Hayden, ID. Lynette says, "She is so nice, and we are really happy! Her barn name is Hope because we have great hopes and dreams for her." Lynette is going to request Face It She Glows as Hope's registered name.
Larra Johnson-Lawrence of Pottsville, AR writes, "Here is our latest Face addition. A bay filly born April 7. She is so friendly I can't get a good picture of her because the second she sees me she comes running! Very pretty and very sweet! She is out of Zippos Heather (Zippos Old Gold x daughter of Mr Conclusion). Thanks, we're very happy with her!"  Thanks, we're very happy with her!" Her registered name is  Face It Im Old Gold.
Trashy Gay Bar O Lena (a Doc O'Lena/Trashadeous APHA mare) gave Rebecca James of Boerne, TX, a beautiful bay roan filly in mid-March. Rebecca says, "She's a cutie. We're calling her "Samantha" and deciding between Face it Im Trashy and Lilonthe Trashy Slide as her registered name. Presently, she seems to be showing her mother's side with a VERY spunky nature including loping circles around her mother in the stall, sliding stops so hard she flips herself over backwards, and lightning fast rollbacks. There's not a (APHA) spot in sight but she's beautiful in every other way"
This little chunky colt is only a day old in the photo! He's being called "Alvin" by owner Gary Carr who lives in Albright, WV. Mom is BW An Irish Version, an own daughter of Good Version out of an Investment Asset mare. Alvin's registered name is Faceit Ima Version.
Jyner Barnes of Marble Falls, TX, got this big stout bay colt from her mare Quioxte Two Face (Two Eyed Jack/Doc Quioxte bloodlines). Colt's applied for name is Quioxte Two Face, to be called "Ote." Jyner says, "He's cute, curious, and likes people and dogs!"
Here's another bay roan foal, born Feb 10 to Empress Zippo Chessa. The cute filly with the star and snip is owned by Valerie Yarber of Emory, VA. Valerie is calling her "Luna" because there was a full moon the night the filly was born. Her registered name is Zip My Face. Update: Mare and filly were purchased by Gary Carr of WV, another CHHR customer, who changed the filly's barn name to "Pricilla." Larry says she doesn't look roan, and actually may be shedding out to be black!
CHHR received this photo from Leo Dye of Bulverde, TX, saying "Look what we found in Bo's stall this morning!" Yep, it's a stunning Face filly that Leo says is bay for now. Fingers crossed, she may roan out later. Mom is Thats Beaus Lady, a Gay Bar King/Conclusive bred mare. The filly will be named Thats Face Its Nell.
What strange markings on our red roan colt's face. Born on Feb 23, he is CHHR's last colt for 2009. He's red roan, with no chrome on his legs. Mom is Sissys Cocoa Time "Cookie," our Zips Chocolate Chip mare. Barn name is "Rusty" because he's a redhead. Registered AQHA name is Face It Im Rusty.
This is the first CHHR colt of the year, born Jan 25 to Lucy, our Dynamic Deluxe mare. Get Out of My Face, "Bruce," is a bay with mega white! He has two stockings (front left/back right) and a back left coronet, giving him three beautiful white hooves. Plus, look at this flashlight of a face! For those of you who are San Antonio Spurs basketball fans, "Bruce" is named for Bruce Bowen.
Owner Morgan Blend of Woodhull, NY, e-mailed us about her buckskin foal, saying "She is a filly and was born 4-17. I am so happy. She is gorgeous and correct!" Palomino mom is Miss Shy Glow (Shy Prescription/Speedy Glow breeding). Called "Cisco" at the barn, this filly's requested AQHA name is "Faceitimthescript."
Look at this flash, would you! This is Laurie Bolden's red (roan?) colt out of Mandys Pocahontas, a Mac Tiger Leo mare. They live in Wyoming, NY. Laurie e-mailed us, "He's cherry chestnut with some roaning, three very high stockings and a wide blaze. The pic is of him at seven days old. He is filling out a lot and is just what we had hoped for. Quiet and can move like a cat." His registered name is Face The Fact ImGood.
Great comments from owner Susanna Love of Big Cabin, OK. "After a rather sleepless night our little colt out of Powder Pass & Face It I'm Good has arrived. Dark bay (here is where I'm praying for grey hairs to appear!) with a small whisp of a star.   All wobbly knees and long legs, it looks just like a baby moose. I am afraid he is a keeper anyway!  He has got some big shoes to follow with his full brother Rio.........the mere idea obviously tuckered the little dude out (I'm attaching some photos)."
This is only the fourth foal by Face It Im Good that will be registered sorrel or chestnut (out of over 100). It's his least likely color to throw! However, owner Janice Williamson of Clark, MO call it "God's favorite color." This chunky filly is out of Dudes Shugar Katie, a grand-daughter of Sugar Bars.
We wondered what we would get from Face and a cremello mare. Here's he is - a big buckskin colt who was born on April 2 in Du Bois, PA. The Good Luck Bar "Lucky" is owned by Antoinette Thomassy. Mom is Jays Cougar Te. Antoinette tells us, "He has a very laid back disposition and is very easy to work with, just like his full sister Face of Perfection. As you can tell I really like both of them."
First time mom GNG Cool Chick "CiCi" has been pretty frantic trying to keep up with her new little bald faced red roan filly. Owner Theresa Brown of Robertsdale, AL, says, "Crimson is a social butterfly.  She runs and hides from CiCi and has a great personality. We just love her. She is not scared of the other horses and is all about being the center of attention with people." Mom is a Ima Cool Skip/Deck of Stars mare.
What a surprise for Pam Hernandez of Spring Branch, TX. She got the first Face foal of 2009. The cute dark bay filly with back socks was born at noon on Jan 21, almost a month early. Mom is Miss Lieutenant Leo, a grand-daughter of Rugged Lark. Pam's hubby has named the filly "Tootsie" because she's the color of a tootsie roll pop! Her registered name is Larks Baby Face.
Kay Fischer of Grand Forks, ND, has a new filly! This sweet little bay was born in late April to the mare Crusin Pat Te, a Te N' Te/Two Eyed Jack bred mare. The filly's registered name is Face It Im Cruzin.
Nancy Keller of Pipe Creek, TX, got the surprise of her life in mid-March when she looked out in the pasture and saw this! Yes, this colt is Face's baby -- mega white, and red roan to boot! Mom is Peppys Bueno Poco, a black and white APHA tobiano mare who is double-bred Peppy San Badger. Nancy is going to name him Face It Im Peppy (in APHA) for his mom, but his barn name is "Lucky" because he was born near St. Patrick's Day, and has a paint marking that looks like a shamrock on his chest. Nancy says he is the calmest colt they have ever had, that the grandchildren were already grooming him at only a day old.
Owner Rebecca James of Boerne, TX e-mailed us, "Hy Bingo Time (double bred Doc Bar mare) gave us our second Good Friday foal and Face another roan foal. This is the second foal Katie's produced for us and they have both been born on Good Friday.  New filly Zips Bingo Hollywood "Ruby" has legs all the way up to her ears.  She also has a distinctive heart on her butt ... I guess Sherman sent his Happy Heart mark along." For those of you who don't know about the heart shaped mark, check out Gotta Luv Em "Sherman" under the HHRWRDC tab on this website.

It's a colt! Bonnie Stasser of Goodland, KS, e-mailed us, "Whew! Our future Western Pleasure Champion is here! :-) Of course Olenas Fancy Freckle had him after dark, outside with the weather turning bad. So we got them moved into the barn just before midnight. He is a strong little guy! And I do think he will very easily be the kind that will come and find you for attention." His registered name is Face It Im A Star.
