Happy Heart Ranch Womens Riding and Drinking Club

The initials HHRWRDC were used by ranch owner Tad Corgill in jest when talking about our core group of boarders at the ranch. We always have a great time riding, then love to have wine tastings after events and at shows. Hence, the joke about a "riding and drinking" club. Please know that the two do not happen at the same time!

The HHRWRDC President Emeritus Kay Prince has given us our oath: "Lift a gentle hand on the rein but a firmer hand on the glass."

This page is dedicated to the horses boarded at Corgill  Happy Heart Ranch. Click on their photos to learn more about everyone. Information and photos will be updated regularly to follow their show careers and just plain fun at the ranch. To see a copy of the CHHR Boarding Contract click on the contract icon and select it from the list.

Face It Im A Jewel
"Jewel" is a 2010 bay roan filly owned by TJ Corgill. She is a full sister to Get Out of My Face "Bruce" who is listed below. TJ began riding Jewel bareback and with only a halter at 18 months of age, and Jewel loves it! She comes running to TJ when called in from the pasture. The rides are short and varied, but only at a walk. Standing still, backing, and walking serpentines came totally natural to this filly. Look for big things from her and TJ in the future!

Get Out of My Face
"Bruce" is a 2009 bay AQHA gelding by Face It Im Good and out of the CHHR mare Shes Realy Fun "Lucy."  Bruce went through boot camp at trainer Don Laughery's ranch. TJ is now readying Bruce to be Tad Corgill's trail horse. This colt is the calmest baby that we have raised at the ranch, even if his name doesn't sound like it! He's actually named for former San Antonio Spurs basketball star Bruce Bowen. TJ loves to name her horses after favorite Spurs players.

He was shipped down from Oklahoma as a three-year-old stallion where he grew up totally on the range. Out of a "cowy" bred mare, Hansum is a grandson of Paddys Irish Whiskey. Kay is currently entering competitive trail rides on him and has begun competing in ranch versatility classes.
