ACTHA Parrie Haynes November Ride Chilly's back to it again! In our first competitive ride since spring, TJ and Face It Im Chilly placed second in the Open category at an ACTHA ride. Sherry Carroll also competed on her grey Arabian gelding Rocky in the Pleasure category, placing mid-class. We were very proud of that, because Rocky has been a pure arena horse for all of his 16 years! Now he and Sherry are loving the ACTHA competitions.
Half the fun of the ACTHA rides is camping out the night prior to the ride. Here Sherry relaxes with Rocky, Chilly, Carly and Lilly. The latter two are TJ's mini dachshunds. Rocky and Sherry work the gate. Chilly confidently approaches an obstacle. Rocky goes through the "vines," a regular ACTHA obstacle. Sherry and Rocky cross a beautiful clear creek. When Chilly was a colt TJ used to think she would compete successfully on him "when pigs fly." Well, they must be flying! (Actually, the pig statue was a raffle prize that TJ won at the Parrie Haynes ride.)
